Your drawings, your call
These are pilot terms in plain English. A lawyer is reviewing them before the first paid job.
The short version
- You keep what you own. Sending us a job does not transfer copyright in any drawing or model.
- We use your files to do your job. Nothing else, unless you say yes in writing.
- Your drawings are never used to train AI models, and the AI providers we use do not train on what we send them.
- During the pilot, AI processing can happen outside Australia. We ask before we send a job's drawings to any AI provider.
- A named person checks every job before it leaves. The AI drafts; a person decides.
- Ask us to delete your files at any time.
1. Who owns what
The drawings you send are usually the consulting engineer's and the architect's copyright. You hold a licence to use them for fabrication. Your own models and outputs stay yours.
You give us a limited licence to copy and process the files you send, only to deliver the job you asked for. The outputs we deliver to you (model, shop drawings, NC1 files, RFI list) are yours once the job is paid.
2. What we use your files for
- Your job. Reading the drawings, building the steel model, raising RFIs, and producing the package.
- Checking a past job. When you send a job you have already built, we compare our first pass with what your detailer delivered. You confirm you have the authority to share it.
- Improving the service. We keep measurements derived from a job, such as member counts, section sizes and connection types, without names. Title blocks, names and signatures are removed when we read the drawings. We never reuse a drawing sheet itself as an example or for training without the drawing owner's written permission.
3. AI models and where processing happens
During the pilot we use AI models from Anthropic, Google and OpenAI through their paid business APIs. Under those terms, the providers do not use what we send to train their models. Their servers may be outside Australia, mostly in the United States.
Before any of a job's drawings go to an AI provider, we ask the drawing owner's permission and record it against the job. If you say no, we do not send that job.
4. Where your files are stored
During the pilot, files are stored on encrypted storage that only the founder can access, in Brisbane, Australia.
5. How long we keep files
- Drawings and models you send: deleted 90 days after the job is delivered, unless you ask us to keep them for a revision.
- Outputs we deliver: kept as the record of what was delivered and checked.
- Derived measurements (section 2): kept while the service runs, with no names attached.
- Ask us to delete any of it sooner. We do it within 30 days and confirm by email.
6. People check the work
AI agents draft the model and the package. A named Checker reviews every job and signs the check stamp before anything leaves. The stamp shows the role "Checker", a name, the date, and what was checked: a detailing check against the engineer's drawings, at the revision stated.
We do not design connections. We build only the connections the engineer specified. Where a drawing is silent, we raise an RFI to the engineer. No decision about you as a person is made automatically.
7. Your details
When you use the form or email us, we collect your name, email, company, your role, and any link you give us. We use them only to reply and to run your job. We do not sell them or add you to a mailing list. Vercel (website and form) and Resend (email delivery) handle them for us, only to provide their service.
8. Contact and changes
Questions, or a request to delete your files: hello@staxli.com.
If we change these terms, we date the change at the top of this page and email current customers before it applies to their jobs.
