Steel detailing for fabricators · Brisbane
AI agents detail and check your steel. A person signs.
Send the engineer's PDFs. Our agents read the drawings, plan the connections and model the job. A deterministic builder turns their decisions into the model, shop drawings and NC1 files for your shop. Where a sheet is silent, the agents stop and ask instead of guessing. A checker agent checks every part. A person signs.

Agents read the drawings
A vision agent reads each sheet: views, members, callouts. Where a leader line could point at more than one item, two readers on different AI vendors read it independently and must agree. A disagreement becomes a question, never a pick.

Agents plan and model the job
A job lead agent coordinates one frame agent per portal frame. They read the findings, plan the connections and model the job through fixed tools. When the drawings do not say, they stop.
- grid 1 get_facts(S-301, detail A) end plate called up; thickness not stated
- grid 1 place_connections(knee, detail A) refused: plate thickness has no source
- job lead get_findings() 15 blocking
- job lead answer_rfi() no source on the drawings: ask, do not guess

Agents stop and ask
S-301 states no plate thickness, so the frame agents held the connections. The RFI register groups the 15 RFIs into 2 questions for the engineer: one answer settles each group.

Run 1 builds the model, held
The builder, the agents' hands, turns their decisions into steel. Every held connection stays a boxed placeholder, not a guessed plate. Then the job stops for review.

The model gate
A checker agent checks every part. A person signs. The checker agent runs on a different model from the builder and lists its findings: 15 RFIs are open, so "Approve model" is refused. A person records the engineer's answers; agents may not. Run 2 builds from them and raises no RFIs. The person reviews the agent's findings and signs: sign-off one.

Run 2: the connections go in
With the answers in, the builder places the connections the engineer specified: end plates, base plates, apex plates. Holes are cut, then bolts go in.

Sample job SYN-001 · run 27 Oct 2026
Every RFI, with the question it asks.
The job in the film is this synthetic three-frame portal shed. The first run found the drawings never state the connection plate thicknesses, so it raised 15 RFIs grouped into 2 questions. A person recorded the engineer's answers, run 2 raised none, and the model and then the package were checked and signed.

What we do today, and what we never do.
Today (pilot)
- Pilot: agents produce the first pass on synthetic job SYN-001; a detailer finishes, a checker agent checks every part and a person signs; real-job accuracy is being measured
- A checker agent checks every part. A person signs. The checker agent runs on a different model from the builder and lists its findings; the person reviews them at both gates
- Agents read the drawings and model the job with the connections the engineer specified; the builder writes the geometry
- RFIs raised and parts held instead of guesses
- NC1/DSTV files, each re-read by an independent check
- A person records the engineer's answers and the rerun builds them in; open files you keep
Never
- Design a connection the engineer didn't specify
- Invent a size, plate or dimension a drawing leaves out
- Claim engineering sign-off: we check the detailing against the engineer's drawings
- Train AI models on your drawings
Next
- Architect and 3D-model inputs, fully coordinated
- Shop drawings to full shop practice, then the complete fabrication package
- Nesting and cut sequence for your beam line
Who it is for
- Fabricators
- Find the missing information at the desk, not at fit-up. Get NC1 files your beam line can read.
- Detailers
- Start from a coordinated first pass, not a blank model. You finish it, you sign it off, you keep your client.
- Engineers
- Only the connections you specify go in. Anything unspecified comes to you as a clear RFI, early.
- Checking
- A checker agent checks every part. A person signs. The stamp says what was checked and at which revision.
Built by a detailer who knows where drawings go quiet.
I'm Umut Renas Celik, a civil engineer who worked in structural steel detailing and 3D modelling. Detailing in Tekla taught me that a job rarely stalls on modelling speed. It stalls on a drawing that didn't say something, found too late, and someone guessing.
So Staxli never designs connections or guesses a missing callout. It builds only what the engineer specified, raises an RFI where a sheet is silent, and holds the parts that depend on it. A checker agent checks every part, and a person signs every job before release.
Send us a shed you've already finished
We return a first pass to compare with your detailer's. Free during the pilot. We reply by email within one business day.
Your drawings, your call
- You keep what you own. Sending a job transfers no copyright.
- Your drawings are never used to train AI models.
- Stored on encrypted storage only the founder can access, in Brisbane. [CONFIRM: BitLocker on]
- During the pilot, AI processing may happen outside Australia. We ask before we send a job's drawings.
- Ask us to delete your files at any time; done within 30 days.
Questions
Who finishes the work?
During the pilot, agents produce the first pass and a detailer finishes it. A checker agent checks every part and a person signs the model, then the package, before anything is issued.
Does the AI design connections?
No. It builds only the connections the engineer specified. Where the drawing is silent, it raises an RFI and waits for the engineer's answer.
Is the film real?
The job is synthetic. The sheets, RFIs, model, drawings, NC1 file and counts in the film are read from the sample package you can download; the engineer's sheets are drawn as schematics. The agent exchange is a replay with scripted replies; the tools, rules, records and review gates are the real pipeline.
Is it a Tekla plugin?
No. It is a service: you send drawings and get files back. The IFC model opens in Tekla and other BIM tools, and the NC1 files go to your beam line.
Which beam lines do the NC1 files suit?
They are standard DSTV NC1 files. Tell us your machine in the form and we will check your line's dialect on the first job.
Who checks the work?
A checker agent checks every part. A person signs. The checker agent runs on a different model from the builder. It checks every part against the engineer's drawings and the model and lists its findings; the person reviews them and signs. The stamp reads "Checked · Staxli" and states what was checked: a detailing check against the engineer's drawings, at the revision stated.
Why does a person still sign?
Accountability and insurance sit with a person, and fabricators release only checked drawings. Real-job accuracy is still being measured. Over time the person reviews the exceptions only.
How accurate is it on real jobs?
We are measuring that now on real past jobs and will publish the scorecard with dates. Until then we show only the synthetic job, and the free comparison on a shed you've finished is the honest test.
How is it priced?
Per tonne, plus a minimum fee per job. We quote against what you paid on your last job. There is no price list yet.
